Alterations

We work directly with the sewing studio on the village high street and are able to offer a full alterations services for all gowns that we stock. This includes newly ordered and sample sale gowns
The experienced team of seamstresses will work with you to carry out your required alterations, to ensure your dress is perfect for you on your wedding day.

Alterations can be simple, such as adjusting your hem length to suit your wedding shoes or your straps to ensure your dress neckline is in the correct position. They can also be more extensive; taking your dress in or adjustments to lace or bead work. Your first fit appointment will take place at the same time as your dress collection if your wedding is less than three months away. During this appointment they will talk you through what is required and pin your dress in preparation. They will also give you an estimate on the time and cost of your alterations and book you in for your second fit and dress collection.

Your second fitting will be to try on your dress with all alterations carried out to ensure your dress is ready for your wedding day. This will take place at the sewing studio on the High Street unless stipulated otherwise. Any final amendments will be discussed. You can either take your dress with you after this fitting or alternatively return to collect on a set date if final adjustments are needed.

Our wedding dress alterations costs are separate from the cost of your dress and are dependent on the level, time and type of alterations you require. Simple alterations cost an average of between £120 and £150, covering things such as hemming and adjusting straps. More complex alterations such as taking in, lace or beading work, adding cups, corset alterations or remodelling the dress will cost more but will be discussed with you before being carried out and agreed.
